Counselling in Nature. Movement. Real Conversations.
Supporting teens, women, men and new mums through anxiety, grief, self-worth challenges, and life transitions - in nature, movement, and conversation.
Based in Northern Rivers / Online / Walk & Talk Counselling
Welcome to Coastal Counselling Walk & Talk Therapy | Northern Rivers NSW
There are times in life when things feel heavy, unclear, or overwhelming - and you might find yourself holding more than you can carry alone.
At Coastal Counselling, I offer a calm and supportive space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself again.
We do this differently here.
Sessions take place outdoors along the coastline of the Northern Rivers - walking side by side, allowing space for conversation, silence, reflection, and movement.
Because sometimes healing doesn’t happen sitting across from someone - it happens when you feel safe enough to simply be yourself.
I work with teenagers and adults experiencing:
Anxiety and overwhelm
Low self-worth and confidence struggles
Grief, loss, and emotional pain
Life transitions and identity changes
Stress, burnout, and feeling “stuck”
Support for new mums adjusting to change
You don’t need to have the “right words” before you come. We start where you are.
Support for New Mums
Adjusting to motherhood can feel overwhelming, isolating, and at times, unlike anything you expected.
If leaving the house feels too much, I offer flexible support options including in-home sessions, along with walk and talk or online counselling.
This is a space where you can slow down, be real, and feel supported through this stage of life.
WHAT SESSIONS FEEL LIKE
Walk and Talk Therapy is relaxed, informal, and guided by what you need in the moment.
Movement in nature can gently support emotional regulation, clarity, and connection - helping conversations feel more natural and less pressured.
Sessions are:
slow and grounding
conversational and flexible
shaped around your pace
supportive of silence, emotion, and reflection
You are never rushed here.
Sessions are flexible and shaped around your needs - whether that’s walking outdoors, connecting online, or meeting in your home when getting out feels overwhelming, particularly for new mums.
MY APPROACH
I draw on a range of approaches depending on what feels most supportive for you, including:
Person-centred and strengths-based counselling
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy)
Trauma-informed practice
Somatic and nervous system awareness
Most importantly, I work with you as a whole person - not a diagnosis or problem to fix.
WHERE WE MEET
Sessions are held across the Northern Rivers coastline, including:
Tweed Heads | Kingscliff | Brunswick Heads | New Brighton | Lennox Head | Ballina
Alternative locations and wet-weather options are always available.
WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE WALK & TALK
Being in nature and moving while we talk can help:
reduce anxiety and stress
support emotional regulation
make conversation feel easier
create space for reflection and clarity
Nature becomes part of the therapeutic process -grounding, steady, and present.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THIS ALONE
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start - you don’t need to figure it all out first.
We can start slowly, together.
When you’re ready, I’m here to walk with you
WHO I SUPPORT
Hello
I’m Sahra
Counsellor in Ballina, Brunswick Heads, Kingscliff & surrounding areas
Founder of Coastal Counselling Walk and Talk Therapy
I’m a counsellor who believes healing doesn’t happen in a straight line - and often, not within four walls.
I support teenagers, adults, and new mums navigating anxiety, grief, low self-worth, and life transitions - those times in life where things feel heavy, overwhelming, or hard to make sense of.
My approach is person-centred and strengths-based, grounded in compassion, connection, and the belief that you already hold the capacity for growth - even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.
My Why
This work is deeply personal to me.
I understand grief - not just in theory, but in the quiet, aching way it can touch everything. I’ve experienced loss that shaped me, stretched me, and changed how I move through the world.
I also know what it’s like to feel alone in what you’re carrying.
And alongside that, I know motherhood - not just the love, but the overwhelm, the identity shifts, and the early years where support can feel limited or missing altogether.
There were times I would have benefited deeply from having someone to walk beside me - someone to listen, to hold space, and to remind me I didn’t have to do it all on my own.
That experience stays with me.
It’s why I believe so strongly that when a mum is supported, it has a ripple effect - not just for her, but for her children, her family, and the way she experiences herself.
A Different Kind of Counselling
Nature has been a big part of my own healing - a place where I’ve been able to breathe, reflect, and slowly find my way again.
Through walk and talk therapy, I offer that same kind of space to you.
Sessions are relaxed, grounded, and real. Not clinical. Not rushed. Just a supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are.
Support That Meets You Where You Are
I offer counselling across Ballina, Brunswick Heads, and Kingscliff, with sessions outdoors, online, or adapted to your needs.
For new mums, or during times when leaving the house feels overwhelming, I also offer flexible in-home support where appropriate - because sometimes getting out the door is the hardest part.
Walking Alongside You
Whether you’re navigating grief, anxiety, motherhood, or simply feeling not quite like yourself, you don’t have to do it alone.
We take it one step at a time, in a way that feels safe and supportive.
If you’re ready, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
Warmly,
Sahra
